Ectoin® surrounds itself as well as neighbouring cell membranes with a water layer named the “Ectoin® Hydro Complex”. This film strengthens and stabilises the lipid layer on the ocular surface and is able to protect human epithelial cells from harmful allergens thus limiting the inflammatory response typically induced by stress mediators.
For extra relief, Artelac® Allergy includes a high concentration (0,24 %) of Hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring lubricant that supports the aqueous layer of the tear film and provides instant and long-lasting relief for irritated and sensitive conjunctivas.
