Homeopathic immune-boosters explained

Mopani Pharmacy’s very own Sr Rentia explains how homeopathic immune-boosters work, why they are becoming so popular, and how they can benefit you.

What is the difference between homeopathic medicine and traditional medicines?

“Traditional medicines are designed to fight symptoms and bacteria head on. Homeopathic medicines trigger the body’s natural responses, metabolic and autoimmunity to fight what ails you itself. There is no medicine for viral infections, which is why homeopathic alternatives can aid your body in the fight against a virus”, Sr Rentia explained.

Are there any benefits to using homeopathic medicines?

“Some people are hypersensitive to certain ingredients in traditional medicines. Homeopathic medicines are natural and plant-based. If you are not allergic to the plant, there should be no side-affects to making use of homeopathic medicines. It is natural and is seen by the body as food, therefore absorbs it as it would absorb food.”

It helps with your lymphatic drainage which will help you get rid of all the waste left over from burning fat, and it gives you the energy you are lacking if you are following a calorie deficit eating plan.”

What is the difference between injection-based and oral based homeopathic medicines?

“We will not do an injection on children younger than 12 years of age. Some of our oral medications are suitable for new-borns. A major difference is that injections are absorbed directly in the bloodstream and it will not have to be processed via your digestive system. The digestive system may only absorb a certain amount and does so slowly”, Sr Rentia explained.

How long does an injection last?

“It lasts in the bloodstream for about seven days. If you have a chronic problem that is severe, you can repeat it every seven days. If it is something that you would like a little boost every now and then, you can opt for once or twice a month.”

Are the different types of homeopathic medicine contra-indicated?

“No, you can take a variety of homeopathic supplements in conjunction as they are natural, plant based, and considered food by the body.”

How do I know which medicine to take?

“You are more than welcome to ask our pharmacists or consult one of the Sisters at the Wellness or Homegrown Babies clinic, to discuss any condition you may have. We will be happy to assist you with a recommendation”, Sr Rentia concluded.

To Remember

Do not administer any medications to a child without consulting a doctor, pharmacist or clinic sister first. A child’s condition, weight, age, hypersensitivities and symptoms may indicate which ingredient and at what dosage is suitable for the child.
