Let us show you how: Underpainting
The viral makeup trend for a soft-focus finish
Blush, contour and highlighting before foundation? Everyone is reversing their makeup thanks to TikTok. This isn't just another viral video fad - 160 million hash tag views for a reason!
Underpainting has been an artist-approved method for decades and we're now seeing a rebirth. Applying colour first and foundation afterwards means you'll get a soft-focus filter and a naturally flawless complexion, every time.
Not quite comfortable with contouring? This will be perfect for you. The technique is also great for all skin tones.
Do it in 6 easy steps:
Step 1
Contour your cheekbones, nose, and forehead using a cream-based contour stick.
Step 2
Blend out the contour lines in an upwards motion with a fluffy brush.
Step 3
Dab concealer under the eyes, middle of nose, and middle of forehead with a light shade and blend into the skin.
Step 4
Tap a cream blush in your favourite shade, onto the cheeks using the tip of your ring finger.
Step 5
Lightly sweep a layer of your favourite sheer foundation over everything.
Step 6
Use a fixing spray of your choice to ensure your natural look stays glowy all day long!
