Description
Gentian violet is an antiseptic and antifungal dye used to treat fungal infections of the skin like thrush, ringworm, and athlete's foot. It also has weak antibacterial effects and may be used on minor cuts and scrapes to prevent infection. Topical gentian violet is used to treat some types of fungus infections inside the mouth (thrush) and of the skin.
