Mopani Pharmacy is the proud stockist of two wonderful brands, Carrol Boyes and Charlotte Rhys. We would like to tell you a little bit about the big names behind the brands, and how they came to be.

Carrol Boyes was the founder, creator and CEO of the Carrol Boyes retailer in Cape Town. She gave up her teaching career in pursuit of creating beautifully crafted items at the young age of 35. Her creative designs turned into functional art.
Cutlery made of alloys, porcelain and wood remains one of her most popular endeavours. However, there are many beautiful pieces made of a variety of materials in her collection, to offer anything from home décor to office-use items.
After 30 years, the brand is now known globally, and sold in exclusive outlets in the country, one of which is Mopani Pharmacy.
Carrol sadly passed away after a brief illness in August 2019.
Her team is determined to let her legacy live on, and continues to create beautiful pieces true to her brand. A news article published stated that the company said Carrol would be remembered for her love, her story and her quirky creativity.

Janet Rhys is one of the most prominent business women in the country. She partnered with Shaun McDermott with the goal of creating a sophisticated and luxurious bath, body and lifestyle range. Their skills put together make them a unique duo in the luxury retail sector.
Their empire swiftly grew from one single product since 1999, to over 100 products sold today.
What about the name?
We got that answer from Janet herself, “Charlotte was my grandmother’s name. She was born in the late 19th century in the valleys of South Wales, the daughter of a coal miner. She died when I was a baby, so I never knew her, but my father told me she was very stylish, loved beautiful clothes and took great care of her skin. So, I thought, along with her perfect name, she would have loved the products and packaging”, she said.
They live for their motto, Perfume your world, and their mission to be kind to nature. Charlotte Rhys adheres strictly to this ideal and as a result, is 100% endorsed by Beauty Without Cruelty and the Vegan Society of South Africa. “We are committed to the protection of natural resources and to reducing the negative impact and stress on the planet. We have integrated environmental awareness and ethics at the core of our business strategy”, the statement on their website reads.
This luxury brand is not only popular in South Africa, it is making its mark in international markets as well. “We supply guest toiletries and amenities to five-star hotels, resorts and lodges, both nationally and internationally”.
