Description

Glycerine Suppositories for Adults 12 Suppositories is specially formulated to help with the laxative relief of occasional constipation. Works within 15 - 30 minutes.

Pack Size: 12 Suppositories

Direction and Dosage: Adults and children 6 years of age and older: one suppository to be inserted rectally as a single daily dose, when necessary. Hold the wide base of the suppository in the fold of a cloth. Lubricate the pointed end with petroleum jelly or moisten with water and insert well up into the rectum. Even though complete solution is not necessary for action, the suppository should be held for five minutes to induce a motion. Acts within 15 to 30 minutes.

Storage instructions: Store at or below 25 degrees C. Protect from moisture.

Warnings:
Keep out of reach of children. Contra-indications: Sensitivity to the ingredients. Do not use unless the patient to be treated is in fact constipated. For rectal use only. This medicine should not be used in the presence of abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting. Frequent or prolonged use of this preparation may result in dependance on laxatives and loss of normal bowel function. If a sudden change in bowel habits is noticed that has persisted for a period greater than two weeks, consult a doctor before using the laxative. No laxative should be used for longer than one week, except on the advice of a doctor. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative may indicate a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult a doctor. May cause rectal discomfort or a burning sensation. Must be administered with caution to diabetic patients or to those at risk of dehydration. Side-effects and special precautions: Glycerin when used rectally may cause rectal discomfort or a burning sensation. Large doses of glycerin, when taken orally, may lead to serious toxic effects.
