Stuck on what to buy for your loved ones this holiday season? We know gift giving can be difficult if you want to show someone you care. It is though, there are millions of options, and yet not enough. Here is our gift guide, to help you not only choose, but also budget!
Who are you shopping for?
Make a list of all your loved ones you plan on shopping for this festive season. This will allow you to keep track of everyone, what you have bought, and your budget.
Allocate a budget to each person. This is all up to how much you are willing to spend. Some family members like your spouse, parent or child may have a bigger budget allocated to them than say, the distant cousin you only see twice a year. No problem – we have less expensive options for them as well.
The gifts
Fragrances
A fragrance is a personal gift, as you would have to know what type of person they are in order to pick a scent that will suit their personality. Picking a fragrance can be hard if you don’t know exactly what they smell like. Luckily, we have a guide on how to differentiate between them. View the link at the end of the article.
The second consideration is the price and type, for the person. For example, your teenage daughter will do well on a less expensive fragrance gift set, since she might get other gifts as well. Your mother will appreciate a luxury fragrance as a singular gift.

Make-up and nail polish
Make-up is something personal, should you know the person well enough to know which shades and brands of foundation, concealer and primers they prefer. Versatile gifts, such as eye shadows, lipsticks, nail polish etc. are more fun. You can get a variety of colours and shades of inexpensive products and build a fun hamper for them to play around with. Alternatively, you can get one or two higher quality items if you know that they like a specific brand or colour.
One point of order is to make sure whether or not the person has a preference for vegan or cruelty free cosmetics.
We have a variety of vegan and cruelty-free products available, check out the link at the end of the article for more info on some of our favourite brands.
Confectionary
In this instance, someone close to you might have a sweet tooth, or this may be someone on your list that you don’t know well enough to get a personal gift.
Barring any conflicting food allergies, sweet spoils over the holidays are a popular choice, often associated with the festive season.
Chocolates, nuts, cookies and more – all available at Mopani Pharmacy, and it does not have to break the bank.
Electronics
Who doesn’t love a fancy gadget? Electric toothbrush, nose-hair clippers, hair styling tools and other grooming kits all make for a new experience that will save time, inspire some self-care and score you some brownie-points as a thoughtful gift giver.
For the sports fanatics
Someone in your family is bound to love exercising or practicing a sport of some sort. For fitness junkies, hydration is a never-ending need. Having enough water is not the only concern, but also keeping it at the preferred temperature, and having a nice additive to replace electrolytes can make all the difference.
Then there is the clothing – who knew a pair of breathable socks could bring so much relief?
